Tutor of Singing, Musical Theory

Phillip is a professional tenor and dedicated singing teacher who is passionate about helping students of all ages find and master their authentic singing voice. Having taught singing for over five years he has instructed students of all skill levels, from beginners to working musicians, in a range of musical styles encompassing rock, pop, music theatre and classical.

Phillip received his Licentiate of the Royal Academy of Music in vocal pedagogy In2021 and loves to draw from the cutting-edge of voice research in his teaching practice. Phillip’s career as an opera singer has enabled him to sing with each of the United Kingdom’s premiere opera companies, including English, Scottish and Welsh National Opera. As a graduate of both the National Opera Studio and the Royal Academy of Music, he has had the privilege of learning from world-class mentors and instructors whose expertise he enjoys passing on to his students.

Phillip regularly performs throughout London in operas, concerts, and recitals in venues including Wigmore Hall and Cadogan Hall. Phillip has extensive experience in preparing his students for graded singing exams, auditioning for various music schools and coaching students for roles in music theatre performances. He is passionate about music theory, incorporating a Kodály-based musicianship approach to students to best instill them with a solid foundation in rhythm, musical notation, and sight-singing. He also takes great care to find repertoire that aligns with each student's individual capabilities, ensuring a holistic and fulfilling learning experience.
