Frequently Asked Questions
How do I organise a lesson?
You can CONTACT us via telephone or email. We will arrange for you to have lessons with the best tutor for you. There is no registration fee.
Where are your tutors located?
We have tutors across the whole of London. We focus on lessons at the comfort of your home, at the tutor's home or online. At the moment the majority of our tutors are in North London and South West London.
How much do you charge?
We have two types of lessons: standard and specialist lessons. For the cost of our standard lessons, visit our LESSONS page. For specialist courses please phone directly at 079 35 636 741.
When can I start with my lessons?
You can start whenever you like, as soon as you've made your payment. Some find it best to start at the beginning of the month.
How do I pay?
There are various ways to make a payment, as specified on the PAYMENTS page. You can pay for 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 lessons upfront.
I want piano lessons but I don't have a piano yet. Can I still have lessons?
We can organise lessons for you at a tutor's home, who will have a piano. We recommend that you buy a piano. If you are not planning on buying a real piano yet, we recommend that you purchase a digital piano with 88 keys and with weighted keys. If you're looking something within a lower budget, a keyboard can be a temporary solution.
What is the best age for my child to start music lessons?
For piano and singing lessons, age 4-6 is a good start. For guitar, violin, drums and trumpet, 6-10 is good.
What sort of guitar should I buy for my child?
The recommended guitar for young children is sized 3/4, with nylon strings. They usually cost £25-£50. For older children, both nylon and metal strings are suitable.
How many lessons should I have per week? And how long should the lessons be?
For young children and beginners, a 30 minute lesson a week is sufficient. We recommend that older children (14+) try out two 30 or 45 minute lessons per week. For older, intermediate or advanced students, 2 lessons of 45 minutes or 1 hour a week, is recommended.
How much should I practice?
Young children should practice a minimum of 15 minute twice/three times a week. Older children should practice 30 minutes several times a week. Advanced students should be practising for over 45 minutes on a daily basis. Practice will guarantee progress!
Do you teach grades and for exams?
Yes, we can prepare you for grades/exams. Your tutor can recommend an exam board for you.
