INFORMATION FOR SCHOOLS
Giving your students the joy of music!
River Music School London (RMSL) is an award-winning music tuition service which matches schools with Peripatetic Music Tutors across the whole of London. Our tutors are Enhanced DBS Certified, qualified musicians and experienced educators ready to start teaching instrumental lessons at your school!
Our tutors are available to teach students at your school within school hours or after school hours. Lessons are 1-to-1, helping to ensure that lessons are tailored for each and every student.
RMSL is responsible for booking students in and collecting payments from parents, helping schools avoid the administrative side of things.
Welcoming peripatetic tutors into your school has never been easier, and we at RMSL are dedicated to enriching your school’s creative opportunities.
Free for schools: we see ourselves as partners to schools looking to supply their students with the opportunity to learn an instrument and develop their talents, in exchange for providing the space we need for our tutors and their commitment to music education, helping make music easily accessible in schools
Zero admin: RMSL takes care of scheduling, payments, interim reports, parent communications, tutor recruitment, payroll and safeguarding
Creative opportunities: enriching your curriculum with music lessons is what we pride ourselves on, as we organise individual and group lessons during and after school hours
Concerts and workshops: showcase your students’ progress as we organise concerts in and out of school, alongside partnering up with established institutions such as Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Toulouse Lautrec, Vortex Jazz Club and others to hold workshops and concerts
SEND tutors available: we strive to ensure that all students are accounted for, and have tutors who are able to teach SEND students
River Music School London was established in 2020, and in 2021 we won the Bark Award for Best Music Lessons in the UK! We are very proud to continue delivering our 5* rated service across the whole of London, matching schools with peripatetic music tutors for the growth of their students.

The learning objectives for our students are:
- to demonstrate the ability to hear, identify, read, write and work with elements of music including: rhythm, melody, harmony, structure and theory
- to be able to perform in areas appropriate to the student's needs, interests and musical path
- to accomplish new musical feats, and achieve excellent exam results
- to develop a sense of pride and confidence in themselves, encourage creativity and discover identity and community through music.
The most important opinions are those of the students.
Here are their wonderful reviews:
To achieve our learning objectives for students, we ensure that the substance of lessons is appropriate to the age, level and ability of each student.
Lessons consist of a mixture of theory, harmony, practical and performance elements of music. Homework is set after every lesson to encourage students to practice independently.
We help prepare students accomplish music examinations. We are able to teach for ABRSM, Trinity, Rock School, LCM and other exam boards.
We give our students complimentary interim reports so that the school and the students' parents are fully informed of progress and targets.
River Music School London aims to create concert opportunities for students, both in and out of school, collaborating with the likes of Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, Toulouse Lautrec, Vortex Jazz Club, and other established institutions.
We uphold strict policies towards safeguarding, and ensure that tutors are Enhanced DBS Certified and qualified for their role. Tutors have undergone background and identity checks and we are able to provide schools with a Letter of Assurance as part of SCR policy and in alignment with the government's 'Keeping Children Safe in Education (2024)'.
