Alessia M
Piano, Singing, Songwriting, Composition and Music Theory
Alessia has a bright energy that "lights up any room she enters or stage she takes to" and she has been described by industry professional as a rare gem (Martin Goebbles). Alessia's lyrics focus consistently on the positive aspects of life.
Although she has now created a distinctive sound, she has gone through years of classical piano training. She was 5 years old starting to play piano, composing at age of 7, studied then three years Jazz in Switzerland and has graduated in 2022 at BIMM London. She has just finished my upcoming EP "Modern Disco Girl" produced and co-written by the legendary Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, Jamie Lawson and many more) which was released in April 2024.
"We highly recommend Alessia, she’s an outstanding teacher. She has an excellent and adaptable approach to teaching both our daughters aged 9 and 14. Alessia’s teaching is tailored to each of my daughters strengths and areas for improvement.
From the very first piano lesson she made them both feel comfortable, they have enjoyed every single lesson but most importantly they both have made enormous progress. Alessia organized a concert for her students where they were able to showcase what they have learned, we all enjoyed the experience and it was a highlight for both ourselves and our daughters to see how much their piano skills had improved." - Jonathan and Katy I
"So I am currently having lessons with Alessia, and they are going really well because I am learning more and more on how to get the notes. Sometimes I have to use my left hand to do the simple chords and the right hands to do the vocal chords (meaning the right had has to do all the singing work, although the hand will not do all the work completely) which I think is a great tip if I want to sing - even if I don't want to sing something, I can put that technique into the song I am going to do.
If I am doing a song on my own, I would just focus on the left hand or bass - some people would not be able to recognise the song from this. I find it useful to do both the left hand and the vocal chords and Alessia has also told me to read more which helps me to play the song better.
I sometimes like to write music using notation; we are currently working on this. This is really tricky but I find the guidance that Alessia gives me really helpful and improves my confidence both in music and in other areas - I can now use similar techniques of notation to help when creating models and other projects.
When I first started, I missed my previous tutor but I now really like Alessia's style - she is stern with her instructions but keeps the lessons fun which appeals to me as this is how I am as well! The lessons have been going really, really well over the past 3 months and I am hoping to continue with the lessons up to my GSCEs and use what I have learnt to consider pursuing a career in music in the future." - Genesis, student.
"My son started out in music therapy age 2, then on to piano lessons age 5.
Genesis is an autistic savant in music and art, He is very particular to whom teaches him. We had a two year break and he concentrated on ART. He was ready to start again and started his piano lesson with his new teacher Alicia, this year after the previous tutor left after only a few months.
We were both very, very nervous as how another tutor can adapt her style and teaching for a gifted autistic kid, wo with his perfect pitch. NICOL the director of ‘River Music’ knew Genesis and worked with him at the
Jazz cats.
The pairing of Alicia and Genesis can rival Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers! Not only is Genesis NOW reading music, HE is writing and learning the notes! They compose music together and the homework is OFF the chain. She adapts blue scales, jazz chords, he has to write the notes and compose a tune HIS WAY. They also do classical and HIS FINGERS… wow! He uses one hand for melody and one for harmony. Alicia is stern and fun and this combination works well for my son.
She finds out what the student likes and adds her own ALICIA to the piano! His LOVE FOR PIANO is back and I cannot wait to see what the combined tutor and student comes up with. Genesis is also a sax player and vocalist and her teaching has crossed over and enhance his performances. Most recently seen
at Kensington town hall. Thank you, Alicia!
In Genesis' words - “Mum, Alicia helps children be better”." - Sandra, parent
