Ava is a soprano and music teacher who is passionate about sharing the joy of music with people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. She loves helping students discover their musical potential, build confidence and express themselves creatively.
She recently graduated with a First-Class degree in Music Performance from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where she studied under Sophie Grimmer. Ava’s musical journey began at the age of four, and she went on to receive a scholarship to the Junior Royal Academy of Music. Since then, she has performed in a variety of settings, including the Royal Albert Hall, Shakespeare’s Globe, Cologne Cathedral, Garsington Opera, the Sheldonian Theatre and the Old Naval Chapel. Her operatic experience includes roles in Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges, Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Gluck’s Iphigénie en Tauride and Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel.
Alongside her performance experience, Ava is passionate about helping musicians develop their skills in an encouraging and supportive environment. Whether students are taking their first musical steps, developing their vocal or violin technique, or preparing for a performance, she aims to make every lesson enjoyable, engaging and tailored to their individual needs.
Ava incorporates principles of the Alexander Technique into her teaching, helping students develop greater awareness of posture, breathing, balance and movement. She adapts her approach to suit different learning styles, abilities and goals, creating a positive space where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and growing in confidence.
Outside of teaching, Ava enjoys exploring improvisation and poetry, both of which continue to inspire her creativity as a performer.
