James is a warm and engaging piano teacher with a strong background in both classical and contemporary music. Currently completing his final year at the Royal Welsh of Music and Drama, he brings a thoughtful musical approach shaped by years of performance and composition work.

As a trumpeter, James specialises in jazz and is an active performer and composer. His experiences include performing at the Royal Albert Hall as apart of a quartet, Performing at the Interceltique festival held in Brittany, and miming on the Agatha Christie Netflix series (Seven Dials).

As a pianist, James regularly performs in community and care settings, including relaxed concerts, in nursing homes alongside his vocal duo partner. His playing emphasises sensitivity, expression, and musical storytelling - qualities he encourages in all his students.

James is experienced working with learners of all ages and abilities. His teaching style is patient, supportive, and adaptable, focusing on building solid foundational technique, developing confident musicianship, and nurturing each student's individual creativity.
