Jon B
Electric Guitar/Acoustic Guitar, Bass Guitar, Music Theory, Jazz Harmony and Repertoire
Jon has been passionate about music from an early age and has played guitar, bass, and a range of other instruments for over 17 years. His musical specialisms span jazz pop, funk, soul, fusion, as well as rock and blues.
Having studied at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Jon is a highly trained musician with a strong foundation in jazz guitar. During his studies, he also developed skills in arranging and composition (under Scott Stroman), jazz harmony and repertoire, aural training, transcription, and Brazilian rhythms.
Alongside his teaching, Jon regularly performs across London on both bass and guitar, playing in jazz big bands, smaller ensembles, and with pop artists.
With three years of teaching experience, Jon tailors each lesson to the individual goals of his students. He strives to create a fun, engaging, and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable exploring and expressing themselves. His approach focuses on providing a holistic understanding of music, offering both harmonic and melodic context so students can confidently engage with and experiment using the ideas that inspire them.
Whether a student aims to work through graded exams or simply develop their musical understanding and technical ability, Jon designs each lesson to support their unique journey.
