With over 20 years’ experience as a music educator and professional performer, Max brings both the technical expertise and the enthusiasm to inspire students of all ages and abilities. He holds an Enhanced DBS check, safeguarding training, and a City & Guilds Award in Education & Training, and he is passionate about inspiring students to achieve their full potential in both performance and theory.

As a freelance tutor and through his work with Tutorful, B Sharp Studios, Powerjam, Moombix and River School Music, he has taught one-to-one, group, and online lessons across London, preparing students for graded exams with ABRSM and Trinity achieving consistent passes. He adapts lessons to meet the needs of each learner, including SEND students, and maintains close communication with parents and guardians. Many of his students have achieved excellent results, gaining confidence both in their playing, recording and in live performance settings.

Beyond individual tuition, Max has led workshops, youth ensembles, and community music projects. His experience as Musical Director of the 13-piece orchestra Animanz and as a professional recording artist with Tru Thoughts Records means he brings not only technical skill but also first-hand performance and industry expertise. As well as numerous recording/session work with many bands over the last 20 years, he is also currently working on his debut solo project with Pete Townshend which will lead to further industry partnerships. He believes these combinations of achievements helps him build the students
confidence and stagecraft while developing strong musicianship and theoretical knowledge.

Max loves music and teaching and is consistent in his mission of empowering musicians through theoretical and performance-based learning.
