Sam is a guitarist from Perth, Western Australia. He has a masters of jazz performance from Conservatorium Maastricht and bachelor of music with first class honours from the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts. Sam is a versatile guitarist covering styles from Jazz, Pop, Blues and orchestral music.

Sam’s music has seen him play at festivals across the world including the Perth International Jazz Festival (AUS) with his own quintet (2021), Gentse Feesten (BEL) with Adam Hall and the Velvet Playboys (2025) and at Jazz Out Limburg (NL) with Kika Sprangers and Jesse Passenger’s Fringe orchestra (2024). Sam has also performed with major artists and groups such as John Beasley, Andrea Motis and the Dutch Jong Metropole Orkest.

As a teacher Sam’s mission is to inspire and provide clear methods for students to achieve their goals. Through a combination of theoretical and practical methods, Sam teaches the concepts behind the music in order for students to not only be able to perform their favourite songs but also understand the theory behind it.
